About The North Central Chamber of Commerce…
The North Central Chamber, as you may know, originated in North Providence, where a small group of businesspeople established the North Providence Chamber back in 1982, with a membership of 100 businesses. Soon after, businesspeople from Johnston and Smithfield asked to join. The Chamber was then renamed to the North Central Chamber of Commerce. Some of our original members who continue to support the Chamber today include:
| Citizens Bank | Sir Speedy Printing Center |
| D. Palmieri's Bakery | Smithfield YMCA |
| Gene Hutnak Photography | Steere Excavating |
| Ovalles Insurance Agency, Inc. | Town Hall Lanes |
| Pocasset Bay Manor | Tri-Town Community Action Program |
| Robbins Funeral Home |
Through the years, the North Central Chamber has grown in several ways, but has always remained strong in the local business community – serving the Towns of Johnston, North Providence, Smithfield, Scituate, Foster and Glocester. It has always been Businesses supporting Community supporting Businesses.
Today, the North Central Chamber reaches out to help solve some of the most crucial issues facing businesses in our communities, aiming to help our membership stay connected to the community via Chamber communications, networking opportunities and more than ever….involvement in several community activities. It still is all about Businesses supporting Community supporting Businesses.
The North Central Chamber describes its responsibility as “helping to strengthen and assist the membership it represents.” During these uncertain times, businesses need to unite! With issues such as increased taxes, the cost of health care, unemployment and the overall economy – businesses are facing problems that they need to face together as one voice…The North Central Chamber is your voice! Our Chamber is looking out for you!
Proudly serving the business community for over 25 years!
